Glen Ellyn Filmmaker to Premiere 'Broken & Beautiful' in Chicago Area

A Glen Ellyn filmmaker's award-winning faith-based film, Broken & Beautiful will premiere in Chicago Saturday, Sept. 8 at the SeptemberFest Film Festival in Glendale Heights.

The independent feature film by Glen Ellyn filmmaker has been chosen as a finalist in the GloryReelz Christian Film Festival in Detroit, where it premiered in May.

Dalian filmed Broken & Beautiful in the spring of 2011 in Chicago and the suburbs, . 

Broken & Beautiful weaves together stories of the lives of members of All Saints Church. Through the music of contemporary Christian artists, the characters’ dark secrets are exposed, despite their best efforts to cover their imperfections. With themes of judgment and hypocrisy, forgiveness and unconditional love, Broken & Beautiful deals head-on with struggles in today's world. Broken & Beautiful stars an ensemble cast: Annelyse Ahmad of Skokie, Danish Alidino of Chicago, Jackson Brunsting of Plainfield, Timothy Cross of Aurora, Martin Gonzalez of Glen Ellyn, Julie Hurt of Chicago, Sean Marcus McDonnell of Skokie, Devon Moon of Naperville, Ann Morton of Memphis, Tennessee, Mary K. Nigohosian of Batavia, Peter Sipla of Warrenville and Felecia Thompson of Chicago.

Tickets to the SeptemberFest Film Festival are $5 at the door, at St. Matthew Catholic Church, 1555 Glen Ellyn Road, Glendale Heights, IL. Doors open at 7 p.m.

The film will also be shown in a two other festivals next weekend:

• Oak Park Film Festival on September 15 at 1pm. Oak Park Library - 834 Lake Street, Oak Park, IL. Tickets are available at the door.
• Sycamore Film Festival on Friday, September 14th (7:30 p.m.), Saturday, September 15th (6:00 p.m.) and Sunday, September 16th (11:00 a.m.) Sycamore State Theater - 420 West State Street, Sycamore, IL (all in Theater 3). Tickets are available online. A Day Pass is $10 for adults and $8 for students
