The Pirate Queen Presented by the Wheaton Park District

The Children’s Playhouse of the Wheaton Park District will present “The Pirate Queen” a play for all ages that features
time travel, fierce storms and dangerous pirates. The play will take place in the Memorial Room of the Wheaton Community Center (1777 S. Blanchard) on Friday, April 13 at 7 p.m. and on Saturday, April 14 at 2 p.m. and 6 p.m.

Written by Tim O’Brien, the 80-minute play centers around the adventures of Jack, Darrell, and Sean, three students living in the shadow of their more successful peers. When a freak storm occurs during a fishing expedition, the boys are whisked back in time to the 18th century. The three friends encounter a crew of pirate women and may be on course to change history.

The play includes singing, dancing, and special effects. Involved in the production of Wheaton Park District plays for seven years, Director Lynn (Scheffler) Collins says, “It is amazing to me to see all the cast pull together to make the show happen and give our audiences a story. The story of our play is very meaningful and makes a powerful statement. It shows the awesome strength that comes with forgiveness and not letting the past dictate how we live our lives.”
