Musical Comedy at Wheaton Drama "Dirty Rotten Scoundrels"

Wheaton Drama's 2011-2012 season finale is the multiple Tony® and Drama Desk Award nominated musical comedy, "Dirty Rotten Scoundrels". Based on the Michael Caine and Steve Martin movie of the same name, this clever, funny show has book by Jeffrey Lane with music and lyrics by David Yazbek.

"Dirty Rotten Scoundrels" follows the entertaining antics of two con men competing on the French Riviera. Suave, polished Lawrence Jameson has perfected his own brand of classy con, but the amusingly unrefined Freddy Benson tries to horn in on the action. There's only room for one con man in Beaumont-sur-Mer, so the two set a challenge to determine who will stay. The comedy escalates as the men compete to con "Soap Queen" Christine Colgate out of $50,000.

Songs include "Give Them What They Want","Great Big Stuff", "What Was A Woman To Do", "All About Ruprecht", "Chimp in a Suit", "Oklahoma?", "The More We Dance", and more. With musical theatre and pop culture parodies and references, plot twists, romance, and an exhilarating amount of good fun, "Dirty Rotten Scoundrels" will close the season with great music and laughter.
