Music in the Park

For a family-friendly showcase of a variety of musical styles, the Wheaton Fine and Cultural Arts Commission encourages you to attend the fifth annual “Music in the Park” event. This free event will take place from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. Friday, July 13, 2012 at Memorial Park, 208 W. Union.

This year’s performers include Small Potatoes, which plays an eclectic mix of music ranging from country, blues and swing to Irish. Also featured are Joe Filisko and Eric Noden, a blues and roots music duo, and Zacbé Pichardo, a percussionist who plays string and wind instruments to perform traditional Mexican rhythms with orchestral sounds.

The Music in the Park event was created by the City’s Fine and Cultural Arts Commission five years ago as part of its mission to increase citizen access to the arts by providing leadership, advocacy and support for art that enriches the cultural vitality of our community.
