DuPage Symphony Presents "Beautiful Baroque"

Experience the special magic of chamber music when the DuPage Symphony (DSO) performs the second chamber concert of the season on Sunday, April 17th, 4:00 p.m. in beautiful Koten Chapel, 329 East School Street, on the campus of North Central College in Naperville. The first half of this year’s Beautiful Baroque program highlights music of the French Baroque with its integral connection to the world of opera and ballet: Lully’s Le Triomphe de l’amour; Pieces en Concert for Violoncello and Strings by Couperin featuring soloist Jennifer Duitsman of Wheaton; Rameau’s Dardanus Suite No. 2; and Concerto in C Major for Flute and Strings by LeClair featuring soloist Shirley Bodett of Seneca, Illinois.  The second half of the program will showcase music of the “international Baroque” style with Telemann’s Overture and Suite in D Major from Tafelmusic 2me Production featuring Margie Arito (LaGrange Park) on oboe and Michael Brozick (LaGrange) on trumpet. Audience members are invited to meet Music Director Barbara Schubert and the participating musicians at an informal post-concert reception, sponsored by Belgio’s catering, after the performance.

Seating in Koten Chapel is limited. Tickets may be purchased in advance through the DSO Business office at 630.778.1003. Ticket prices are: Adults $18, Seniors $14 and Students $8. Single tickets will be available at the door only if seats remain.  For additional information about the DuPage Symphony Orchestra and the 2010-2011 concert season, please visit the website at www.dupagesymphony.org.
