Cantata, Traditional Services Hosted at Gary United Methodist Church

For those looking for a place to celebrate Christmas, Gary United Methodist Church has something for everyone.

At 4:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. the church hosts Christmas Eve services and later, at 10:40 p.m., a time of special music will be offered.   Johann Sebastian Bach's Cantata 142, "For Us a Child Is Born," will be performed by the church's chancel choir, soloists including guest soprano Allison Atteberry, strings and organ.  The cantata will be followed immediately by the third and final Christmas Eve service at 11:00 p.m.

Whether you're looking for an early family-friendly service or the traditonal candlelight service that ends at midnight, Gary offers a program that brings the true meaning of Christmas.  Each service includes the beauty of the sanctuary, the glory of the music, the comfort of familiar hymns and a warm and welcoming congregation.  Visitors are invited not only on Christmas Eve but all year round.
