Burning Bush Gallery Features "Contemplating the Word"

The Burning Bush Gallery is pleased to invite the public to "Contemplating the Word" featuring artwork by Mel Kistner. An artist's reception will be held on Sunday, July 22, from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the gallery as well as on Friday, August 10, from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. The gallery is located directly south of Gary United Methodist Church, 224 N. Main Street, Wheaton.

Through her figurative works and bird series paintings, Mel Kistner explores how people contemplate God's word and allow The Word to change thoughts, behavior and spoken words. Drawing on her background as a clinical therapist, Ms. Kistner's paintings feature introspective figures representing themes of growth and redemption. Her bird paintings feature words with dual meanings addressing the human tendency to let words fly without intention.

The Burning Bush Gallery is a ministry of the Gary United Methodist Church, offering art exhibits, music and other creative forms of spiritual expression.  The mission of the Burning Bush Ministries is to offer programs that engage one in the creative endeavor, cultivate the spiritual life, encourage sacred conversations, promote growth in one’s faith journey and nurture those engaged in personal transformation.  For more information contact Tony Asta at 708-705-8669 or visit the church website at www.garychurch.org.
