Best Seat for the 4th of July Parade

Watch the Parade and Discover Trench Art

The Center for History would like to invite Veterans, active military, Center for History members, and families to watch the Fourth of July Parade at the museum at 606 N. Main Street.  The parade kicks off at 10 a.m., and seating will be opened at 9 a.m.  The front lawn will be reserved so bring a chair for a fantastic view of the parade.  Bottled water and coffee will be made available to those who attend, and there will also be a Trench Art display accompanied by a hands-on activity for kids.  Trench Art is decorative pieces made from ammunition shells by soldiers from Word War I and World War II, and the Center for History has a large collection with a wide range of pieces.  As such, the kids will be able to make their own Trench Art with cardboard and tools to make designs.  There will be fun for all ages.  For additional information, please call the museum at (630) 871-6601, email to info@wheatonhistory.com, or check the Center for History website, www.wheatonhistory.org.
