Cosley Zoo Offers New Wind Machine for Zoo Guests

Have you ever wondered what it might feel like to be in the middle of an F1 tornado?

The Cosley Zoo's new Wild Illinois Winds machine can allow you to do just that.  The wind machine allows children or adults to stand in a tube-like machine while winds of 78 mph whip around them.

“That’s about the speed of an F1 tornado,” said Sue Wahlgren, Cosley Zoo’s director. “This is a fun way to feel an element of nature that impacts animals and their habitat: wind!”

It's also a great way to cool off during the summer heat. The cost is $2 per session to use the wind machine. Revenue collected from the wind machine will support education and wildlife conservation efforts at Cosley Zoo.
