WNHS Senior Earns Highest Scouting Rank

Michael T. Weinberg awarded highest scouting rank in late August.

Michael T. Weinberg was awarded the Eagle Scout rank by Boy Scout Troop 575 at a ceremony on August 28. He is the 37th scout from the troop to be awarded the Eagle Rank. As part of the award ceremony, Mike received letters of congratulations from The Lions Club, Illinois Governor Pat Quinn, former Vice President Al Gore, and President Barack Obama. For his Eagle Project, Mike built a pavilion for RRAF, a group that supports adults with developmental disabilities. The project took six months to plan and four days to construct. Mike joined Boy Scout Troop 575 in 2005, earning 23 merit badges and the American Heritage Medal. The Eagle rank is the highest rank in Boy Scouts. Nationally, only 4% of Boy Scouts achieve this rank. Mike is a senior at Wheaton North High School.
