Whole Foods Donates $33,000 to People's Resource Center

Whole Foods raises more than $33,000 to donate to People's Resource Center through recyclable bag refunds.

The Whole Foods Market stores in Wheaton and Willowbrook raised more than $33,000 to benefit the People’s Resource Center (PRC) food pantry. The stores’ “One Dime at a Time” program ran from October through December, and allowed customers to accept a refund for using recyclable bags or donate it to PRC. The “Grab and Give” program enabled customers to donate larger amounts of money at the register during November and December, according to a PRC statement.

“We are grateful for our partnership with Whole Foods Market and are truly honored to be a recipient of their generosity,” said Jennifer Barger Williamson, Director of Development at PRC. “Their donation allows us to purchase healthy, nutritious food, meat and produce for the 3,200 families who visit us each month.”
