Wheaton Park District Cancels Programs, Closes Facilities Monday

The district also is closing a number of facilities or shortening hours as a result of the extreme weather that's moved into the region.

The Wheaton Park District is canceling all districtwide programs and classes on Monday, Jan. 27, because of the extreme weather that’s moved into the region.


Also because of the dangerously cold conditions, the Wheaton Park District strongly advises residents and patrons to avoid using outdoor sporting and activity sites  such as sledding hills and skating rinks until the National Weather Services lifts its severe cold weather advisory.


At the same time, the Park District is closing the following facilities:

Closures include:

  • Cosley Zoo

  • DuPage County Historical Museum

  • Central Athletic Center

  • Rathje Building

  • Toohey Park Building

  • Leisure Center

  • Lincoln Marsh Office

  • Prairie Administration

  • Kidz Kingdom Childcare


  • Finally,  the district will have some facilities opened for shortened hours:

    • 5 a.m. to 5 p.m. — Community Center & Parks Plus Fitness Center.

    • 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. — Arrowhead Golf Club.
