Wheaton North: Show Your Spirit to the World Friday

ABC 7 Morning news is planning its 'Friday Flyover' in the morning at Wheaton North High School.

Yes, it’s going to be early, but if you’re going to school, you’re going to be up anyway, right? So at Wheaton North, why not start Friday out with a show of spirit?

That’s what ABC 7 Morning news hopes to see during its “Friday Flyover” segment, which on Friday will feature Wheaton North.

ABC 7’s Jayme Nicholas, in an email to Wheaton Patch, said the “Friday Flyover” segments are something special for Chicago-area high schools’ team/school spirit during high school football season.

Nicholas said that each Friday, ABC 7 Chicago’s Chopper 7 heads to an area high school so that students can show off their school spirit.

On Friday, Sept. 20, 2013, ABC 7 will do its flyover at Wheaton North High School, whose football team is preparing to take on Naperville Central at 7:30 p.m.

Nicholas said live coverage of Wheaton North High School will begin during ABC 7’s newscast at 5:30 a.m. — once there is enough light outside for its cameras to see the field. ABC 7 will continue to air shots of Wheaton North through the end of its newscast at 7 a.m.

According to Nicholas, the Friday Flyover series has garnered a lot of interest on social media like Facebook and Twitter.

Nicholas also said Wheaton North principal Jill Bullo also will be featured on Friday Flyover.
