Heavy Snow Possible During This Evening's Rush

Expect to see snowfall begin about 3 p.m.

A heavy line of snow across the Chicago metro area could hit right around the time many will be heading home from work Monday, according to the National Weather Service. 

The NWS issued a special weather statement this morning regarding a short period of moderate to briefly heavy snowfall along and north of a line from Rockford to Aurora to Valparaiso this afternoon and early evening. 

The snow should start in the Chicago metro area around 3 p.m. and the most intense snow may only last two to three hours with two inches of snow possible north of a line from Rockford to Aurora to Valparaiso, according to the NWS.
