Veterans Will Have VIP Seating for Fourth of July Parade

The Wheaton Center for History invites veterans to watch the parade from a grandstand at the Center for History.

The will recognize veterans will be recognized this Fourth of July by inviting them to watch the Wheaton parade in a designated Veterans Grandstand at the museum at 606 N. Main Street, Wheaton.  All branches of the military from World War Two to the conflicts today will be recognized, along with their families.

George Webber, Center for History board member wrote in a Friday press release, “It is a privilege to honor those who served our country and appreciates the sacrifices men and women made to uphold freedom in America and for others around the world.”

The front lawn of the museum designated for this occasion will include the patriotic Grandstand for the Veterans, an area for their families and Center for History members and a display of photos from the Center’s collection of Civil War Veterans who were members of the E.S. Kelley GAR Post 513 in Wheaton.  The morning festivities are in conjunction with the sesquicentennial of the Civil War and the exhibit War of the Rebellion: On & Off the Battlefield at the Center’s museum, 315 W. Front Street, 2nd floor (above Gino’s East Pizza).
