Raffle to Save Wheaton Grand Theater Extended

A grand prize of $10,000 will be awarded to one winner on Nov. 8.

In an effort to raise funds and save the Wheaton Grand Theater, the nonprofit Grand Theater Corporation is in the process of selling raffle tickets with big monetary prizes.

The raffle date was extended for the organization’s inaugural fundraiser, according to the nonprofit. The grand prize is $10,000. Prizes for second, third and fourth place are $5,000, $2,000 and $1,000 respectively. Those who sell the winning tickets also win, receiving 10–percent of the winning value amount, according to the nonprofit.

The Grand Theater Corporation hopes to raise $80,000 toward the restoration of the Wheaton Grand Theater.

“We have some exciting events coming up to raise awareness and money for the restoration, and we’d really like to see the raffle finish strong,” Rick Erickson, spokesman for the organization said.

Ticket are $100 and will be available until all 1,000 tickets are sold, or until the Nov. 8 deadline to purchase. The winning tickets will be drawn on Nov. 8 at 7 p.m. at the Wheaton Grand Theater.

Tickets may be purchased online or at a number of Wheaton businesses including: The Bank Restaurant, Brick’s Wood Fire Pizza, Cellar Bistro, Genghis Grill, Gino’s East, Il Sogno, Ivy, Muldoon’s, Suzette’s Creperie, and Wok n Fire.
