Accomplishment: The fifth grade book club at Wiesbrook held a book drive last week to collect books for Chicago public schools that don't have libraries.

Key to awesomeness: The Power Paws group of fifth graders spent the past weeks preparing for and executing a massive book drive. The students created and posted flyers, promoted the event around school and collected the books. After only one week, the students collected more than 600 books for children in need.

"We are donating books to let people who don't have books get a chance to read," Jillian Shallcross, 11, said. "Its good to let other children learn how to read."

"This is a testament to generosity of our kids and kids understanding the importance to give to others," PTA Leader Sharon Larson said. "The kids went through their books at home and decided what to donate to the book drive. We decided to call it Book Drive from the Heart."
