Pi Beta Phi Alumnae Club Builds 'Little Free Library' in Wheaton

The Glen Ellyn-Wheaton Alumnae Club of Pi Beta Phi has announced a new “Little Free Library” located at 812 E. Willow St. in Wheaton.  

The one-of-a-kind Pi Beta Phi library, built by Pi Phi member Laurie Gornik and her husband, Bob, brings the total of Little Free Libraries in Wheaton to five.Little Free Libraries are popping up all over town, making books available to everyone and giving everyone a reason to smile.  

Donated books for all ages are available on a take-a-book, leave-a-book or return-the-book honor system.  One part of the Little Free Library mission is “to promote literacy and the love of reading by building free book exchanges worldwide.”  The Glen Ellyn-Wheaton Alumnae Club thought this mission closely mirrored the Fraternity’s commitment to literacy that dates back 100 years and wanted to help foster literacy in the Wheaton community.
