A Geneva woman wo has a passion for gardening recently won a $200,000 lottery grand prize.

Carol Wells won the jackpot prize when her Quick Pick ticket matched all five numbers for the Lucky Day Lotto during the Thursday, June 19, mid-day drawing, according to the Illinois Lottery press release.

Wells, who has lived in Geneva for 25 years, said she was at home when she checked the winning Lucky Day Lotto numbers online.

"I couldn't believe it," she said. "I turned my computer off and back on and checked the numbers again."

The avid gardner said she gives away most of her produce and now can use her winnings to expand her garden and "feed even more people." She also plans to invest.

"I give it to people who could use a little help," Wells said.

Wells occasionally buys lotter tickets and purchased the winning Lucky Day Lotto tickets from a 7-Eleven, 1705 West Main St. in St. Charles. The retailer will receive a $2,000 bonus, equal to 1 percent of the prize amount, for selling the winning ticket.
