Free Program Helps Kids Struggling With Unhealthy Weight

ProActive Kids begins its next session of the free program Sept. 19 at the Wheaton Community Center.

PROACTIVE KIDS BEGINS SEPT. 19

The upcoming session of ProActive Kids will begin on Sept. 19 at the Wheaton Community Center in Wheaton. It takes place Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 4:00 – 5:30 p.m. and will last for 8 weeks. Kids come on Monday and Wednesdays and their families join them on Friday to recap key learnings of the week as well as participate in an interactive nutrition lesson.

PAK has now hosted more than 100 children and their families over 7 sessions since December 2009.  Approximately 80 percent of kids in the program decreased their BMI! This is one of few programs to help kids who are struggling with unhealthy weight – and it is the only local program that is FREE. PAK is growing to reach more kids in communities across DuPage County so stay tuned for a site near you!
