City Seeks Good Citizens: Nominations Due by Apr. 15

The city is looking for good citizens. Nominate someone you think deserves the Good Citizen Award by Apr. 15.

The city is looking for someone to be Wheaton's next Good Citizen. Nominations for the award are due by Apr. 15—so there is still time.

Nominating someone is as easy as sending an email or mailing a letter.

The Community Relations Commission encourages residents to nominate someone whose actions have benefitted other Wheaton residents or the Wheaton community by volunteering many hours of personal time to a civic organization, group or service club, accomplishing a good deed by going above and beyond the expected or performing a heroic act, such as assisting a neighbor in a time of need or crisis.

Awards will be given in four categories: high school student, adult, senior citizen and group.

To nominate someone, simply explain why the resident(s) should be recognized in two pages or less. Describe what the person did and how it made a difference in the lives of Wheaton community members or classmates. Be sure to include the name, address and nominating category of the nominee plus your name, address and phone number.

You can nominate someone either by email at sbarrett-hagen@wheaton.il.us or by mail to the City Clerk, Wheaton City Hall, 303 W. Wesley St., Wheaton, IL 60187.
