Youth and Family Therapist Opens Office in Wheaton

Parents who need to find support for children and teens with mental health issues have a new service provider option in Wheaton. Melinda Alston, LCSW opens her child, adolescent and family therapy practice in Wheaton today.

Melinda Alston is a licensed clinical social worker with more than 25 years of experience with youth and families. She has worked in out-patient therapy, as an administrator, trainer, in foster care, and in the schools. “I believe that therapy happens within a relationship, that therapy is supportive, and that therapy can help bring about positive change,” Alston says. “Relationships and behavior can have patterns and motivations that are difficult for those in the middle of strife to see. As a therapist, I listen - and see patterns. My goal is to assess my client's unique situation and respond in a tailored way.”

Raised in a family full of social workers and nurses, it can be said that social work is “in her blood.” Melinda Alston specializes in child, adolescent and family therapy, with expertise in mood disorders, anxiety, autism, ADHD, trauma, loss and family function. She is a Blue Cross and/or Blue Shield insurance provider and accepts major credit card payments.

The office of Melinda Alston, LCSW is located at 200 W. Willow in Wheaton. Learn more about her services and make an appointment at www.MelindaAlston.com, e-mail Melinda.Alston@comcast.net or call 630-205-8294.
