Windsor Park Unveils a New Fitness Center

Join Residents in exploring the newest renovation at the Covenant Retirement Community during a January 22 Open House.

Carol Stream, Ill. – January 15, 2014 – The fitness and game center at Windsor Park is the latest makeover as Windsor Park continues its ongoing investment in programs and facilities.

The continuing care retirement community at 124 Windsor Park Dr., Carol Stream, invites the public to view the new space at an open house, Wednesday, Jan. 22, 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. Attendees can tour, watch mini-classes and enjoy healthy snacks.

Fitness Center Director Mary Lou Bellefleur is particularly pleased with the addition of dedicated classroom space and a new sound system.

"Before, we’d hold classes in one corner of the large, open room,” explained Bellefleur. “The space echoed. It will be easier to conduct classes in a dedicated space.”

The remodel divides the large space into three: a fitness machine area with Technogym equipment, a game and activity center, and the classroom. Bellefleur says the slightly padded laminate floors are senior friendly and will be an advantage for programs such as the new line-dancing classes.

Residents agree. “Before it was too cold (feeling),” says duplex home resident Donna Bossert. “I think the new area is more inviting. It’s beautiful.”
