Volunteers Needed to Visit Hospice Patients

Hospice patients need your companionship!

Volunteering with Harbor Light Hospice is being a good neighbor and friend. If one of your neighbors or friends became ill you would go visit them to watch TV together or play cards. You might discuss current events. Or hold their hand. The Volunteer Coordinator supports you all the way from interview to meeting an assigned patient. Patients live in nursing homes, assisted living homes, or in their own homes. You are assigned a patient who truly needs your company, someone who is lonely and needs a friend to visit! The visit will be convenient to where you live, so there is not much traveling involved. You go visit whenever it is convenient and take some time to talk or whatever you and the patient like to do. There are also volunteer opportunities to help in the office: filing, fill admit packs for new patients, etc. Feel the satisfaction of knowing you are making a difference in someone’s life. Informational Meetings and Orientation sessions are scheduled at regular intervals - contact Cathy Miller for more information - cmiller@harborlighthospice.com, or (630) 942-0100.
