Rover Rescue Dog of the Week

Howdy!  My name is Fancy.  Do you happen to remember Reba McEntire’s country song from the 90s; the one about the girl born of plain white trash?   Her name was Fancy, too, and our stories are quite similar.  I was born in the south (Southern Indiana) and found myself in a desperate situation.  I was a lost dog in a high-kill shelter.   Even though I must have had a family at one time (I came into the shelter overweight), sadly no one came for me.   With the help of Rover Rescue, I was able to pull myself up by my bootstraps and move uptown… to the Chicagoland area.  Grab a sweet tea, put your feet up and sit for a spell while I tell you about myself.   I am a funny 6 year old Puggle.  I am the best blend of two great dog breeds.  I have the bark/bay of a Beagle and the goofy, lovable personality of a Pug.   Now that I am no longer living on the streets, I am growing quite accustom to the life of luxury.  My foster mom thinks that Fancy is the perfect name, as I do like to be treated like an aristocrat.  I promise to give lots of cuddles and sweet lovin’ in return to anyone and to any age.   I get along well with other dogs, but they need to remember that I like things my own way and am the top dog!  I am not exposed to cats in my foster home, but have some feline tendencies.  I like to sit on top of the couch and look out the window.   Can you believe that I was told that I am a little short for my weight??  I currently weigh 30 pounds and need to lose a few, but my favorite daily activity is eating!  I love food and can find it anywhere!  I live to sleep and eat.  I can run and play with the best of them, but I am very content snuggling up for a good snooze.  My mom thinks I am quite silly as I will fold up my dog bed, lay on it and hold it in place with my teeth.  I treat it just like a security blanket.  I have proven to be a proper lady as I am housebroken and crate trained.   The reward for my excellent manners is I get to sleep in my foster mom’s bed under the blankets.  Supposedly, I snore, but I am not aware of it! I sleep just fine.   I enjoy going for walks, but I need to have my harness on.   I do like to follow my nose and pull.  We can work on that together!  I am just a really happy girl that loves car rides, playing with stuffed animals, and eating!  Don’t you fancy having a little Fancy in your life?  If your answer is heck yes, don’t delay! Call Teri at 630-897-7454. Don’t forget, “to thine own self be true”.  My adoption fee is $200.  Fancy’s Movie Debut:  http://youtu.be/uTQOSqTux44
