Outback Steakhouse Hosts No Worries Luncheon to Benefit WDSRA

The Outback Steakhouse may be well known for its steak and bloomin’ onion, but it is just as well known for its philanthropic endeavors within the community. The Wheaton Outback Steakhouse is generously hosting a fall luncheon in support of the Western DuPage Special Recreation Association (WDSRA) Foundation.

"We are committed to improving the quality of life in our community,” says Outback Proprietor Jay Ruck . “We are always looking to partner with groups, like WDSRA, who can help us achieve this goal."

Patrons will get Outback’s most popular menu items and the satisfaction of knowing that they are helping WDSRA in the most delicious way! Lunch includes a choice of chicken, steak or salmon and Caesar salad, mashed potatoes, cheesecake, and soft drinks.

As part of the Outback philosophy, each year a select few organizations are chosen to which Outback donates time, staff and amazing food to provide a full course luncheon for each group to use as a fundraiser. Not normally open for lunch, the entire restaurant is filled with like-minded patrons ready to also give back to the community.

This year, the Western DuPage Special Recreation Association (WDSRA) Foundation, Glenbard South Girls Basketball team and Habitat for Humanity have been lucky enough to have been chosen as recipients by the Wheaton location.

"We want to give back to the communities we serve as much as we can. It's an essential part of the Outback culture," says Ruck.  "Wheaton is such a family-oriented community and WDSRA impacts the lives of so many families. We are proud to be able to help."

“This luncheon provides a tremendous opportunity for WDSRA,” comments Lea Jackman, WDSRA superintendent of communications and development. “As a not-for-profit, we are always looking for fresh ways to build donations.  Through this luncheon we can offer an outstanding, delicious lunch for a reasonable price and realize a sizeable donation.  Ruck, his staff, and Outback are the real heroes here. They are the ones making this possible.”
