At least 20 Madison Elementary School students and staff will have their heads shaved to raise funds for the St. Baldrick’s Foundation on Mar. 21. They do this to honor the students and staff at Madison battling cancer.
Madison Fifth Grader Kyle Scaccia will have his head shaved at the event. “I didn't know there were kids at Madison affected by this disease. I felt sad for them and thought this is something I could do to help,” Scaccia said.
Tim Callahan, Madison School principal, sees this event as a fun way to show even the youngest in our community that they can make a difference. “Madison School is a supportive and caring community. This event gives us a great opportunity to stand in unity with our friends in the midst of their battle with cancer. I’m excited about the lessons our students will learn through this charitable experience. Seeing our female staff members and students on that stage will be a powerful moment for all!”

St. Baldrick’s is the #1 non-profit source of funds for childhood cancer research. The shaving ceremony will take place during an assembly on Mar. 21 at 2 p.m. at Madison School, 1620 Mayo Ave., Wheaton, IL 60189.
