Congressman Roskam Packs Food for Philippines

WASHINGTON, D.C. – In advance of the Thanksgiving Holiday, Congressman Roskam and his wife, Elizabeth, met with volunteers and helped pack food at Feed My Starving Children in Schaumberg.  The organization works to eliminate starvation in devastated areas of the world that need it most – on Friday, the Roskams packed food headed for the Phillipines and those impacted by Haiyan, the typhoon that hit the islands earlier this month.

“As Thanksgiving draws near and we count our many blessings, it is important that we keep those in mind who are recovering from disasters near and far, whether it be the tornados in Illinois or the typhoon that hit the Philippines. It was great that my wife, Elizabeth, and I got to volunteer with Feed My Starving Children, spending time with those who are giving their time so generously and help pack meals that will be sent to the Philippines.”
