Auditions for Disney's "The Little Mermaid" at Vero Voce

Vero Voce School of Performing Arts in St Charles third Children’s Theatre production of the season, for ages 8-18 years, will be the Disney musical THE LITTLE MERMAID, based on the book by Hans Christian Andersen.  Journey “under the sea” with Ariel and her aquatic friends in Disney’s THE LITTLE MERMAID JR., adapted from Disney’s 2008 Broadway production. In a magical underwater kingdom, the beautiful young mermaid Ariel longs to leave her ocean home – and her fins – behind and live in the world above. But first she'll have to defy her father King Triton, make a deal with the evil sea witch Ursula, and convince the handsome Prince Eric that she’s the girl whose enchanting voice he’s been seeking The production will be produced by Dawn Harkins, directed and choreographed by Kim Maslo, with Vocal Direction by Melissa Pagano-Arndt.

Young actors will be required to prepare a monologue of no more than one minute in length and one 16-bar musical theater vocal selection. Please do not use music from Disney’s “The Little Mermaid”.   Please bring music in your key. An accompanist will be provided, backtracks are not allowed. There will be a short dance audition, as well. Auditions will be held by appointment on Sunday, November 17, 2013 from 6:00 to 9:00 pm at Vero Voce School of Performing Arts in St Charles. Rehearsals run Tuesdays from 4:00-6:00 pm and Saturdays from 9:00 am -1:00 pm. Performances will be held on Saturdays at 11:00 am and 1:00 pm and Sundays at 11:00 am, November 16-24, 2013. This is a tuition based program.

Vero Voce was established in 2001 specializing in private voice, piano lessons and musical theatre coaching expanded into a 5,000 square foot facility with multiple studios, classrooms, and a theatre at 951 State Avenue, Suite F, in St Charles.
