ASK PETER: Reducing Energy Costs

 WASHINGTON – Congressman Peter Roskam (IL-06) released the latest installment of Ask Peter today, a frequent video conversation with Sixth District residents about issues important to them. In this segment, Congressman Roskam answers Rebecca Graiber’s concerns about high energy prices with what the House is doing to make energy more affordable, create jobs and strengthen the economy.

“…What we don’t need is a more heavy-handed regulation, higher costs of energy that does what? It makes it more expensive to manufacture in this country, more expensive for us to heat and to cool our homes and more expensive for us to use our automobiles. Instead, the House has taken a different approach and has passed legislation that would open up domestic sources of energy to new exploration, to allow new supplies to come into energy fields and allow us to pursue those in very thoughtful ways.”
