“It’s been five years since the Obama Administration received the paperwork and the application for the expansion of this pipeline. Now, think about that, that’s half a decade that they’ve been sitting on this. And there’s been no activity forthcoming. Why is this important? Keystone XL Pipeline would create 20,000 direct American jobs, up to 100,000 indirect jobs, it would decrease gas prices and it would diminish our independence on the volatile Middle East for sources of energy. It has been overwhelming approved by the House of Representatives. A Democrat-led Senate approved it. Many in organized labor approve it. And an overwhelming majority of the American people are in favor of it. So why are they sitting on this?”
