40 Hour Mediation Training by The Law Office of Brigid A. Duffield, P.C.

Attorney mediator Brigid A. Duffield, Wheaton, IL, will present a 40 Hour Divorce and Family Mediation Program on May 1 through 3 and May 15 and 16 at the Illinois Institute for Technology (IIT), Wheaton, Illinois. This professional training program qualifies attorneys and other professionals as trained mediators, broadening their practices, eligible for listing on court approved mediation lists and meets the requirements of collaborative law practice. The 40 Hour Mediation Training is accredited by the Association for Conflict Resolution, approved by the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation for 40 hours credit for Illinois Marriage and Family Therapists. 40 hour credit pending MCLE approval for attorneys.

A pioneer in the field of mediation and a key figure in the establishment of the practice of mediation in Illinois, Attorney Duffield specializes in several areas of alternate dispute resolution in addition to mediation, including collaborative law and arbitration. Her philosophy, "Keep the money in the family," seeks to limit the financial and emotional costs to families going through the legal system.

Author of the "No BS Divorce...Secrets of a Divorce Attorney," Brigid is a graduate of John Marshall Law School. Duffield has owned and operated the Law Office of Brigid A. Duffield, P.C., since 1988. Her areas of practice include family law, divorce mediation, collaborative law, divorce arbitration, real estate, probate and probate mediation. For thirty years, Duffield has been a member of the DuPage Bar Association. Her additional affiliations include the American Bar Association, Illinois State Bar Association, the National Speakers Association, the Association of Conflict Resolution, the Attorney Registration and Disciplinary Commission, the Illinois Lawyers Assistance Program, the DuPage Association of Women Lawyers, the Midwest Shelter for Homeless Veterans, and the Global Women's Leadership Forum.
