The Wheaton Warrenville PTA Council will sponsor a School Board Candidates’ Forum on Tuesday, February 26, 2013 at Wheaton North High School at 7 p.m.
The event will take place in the school’s Commons and will begin with candidates providing two-minute introductions. The moderator Stephen Caliendo, Ph.D. Associate Professor of Political Science at North Central College will pose questions submitted by the audience and provide each candidate with one minute to respond. The evening will conclude with each candidate presenting a one-minute closing statement.
Nine people are running for four open slots on the School Board. These include Joann Coghill, Bruce Fogerty, Barbara Intihar, Ken Knicker, Harold Lonks, James Mathisen, Kyle Nenninger, Brad Paulsen and Janet Shaw. All have been invited to participate in the forum.
The event provides a great opportunity for voters to become more informed and better prepared for the District 200 School Board election on April 9, 2013.

Wheaton North High School, home of the Falcons, originally opened in 1964. Wheaton North has approximately 2,200 students who, according to the Illinois School Report Card, score above average on the Illinois Learning Standards exam and have an average ACT Composite score of 23.9. Wheaton North offers a large selection of extracurricular activities including sports, academic and recreational clubs, music groups and performing arts.
