Viewfinder: Let's Go Fly A Kite

The Park District's third annual "Go Fly a Kite" event is a success again!

Families flocked to in Wheaton Sunday with their kites in hand. At stake: the Wheaton record for the largest number of kites in the air at once.

While it was a cool day, the wind was a friend and participants had no problems getting their kites as high as their string would allow.  If watching all the "regular" kites wasn't enough, all anyone needed to do was peek over at the 60-foot octopus or the giant cat to see which kite lovers got creative this year.

And just when you thought you had learned to control your kite, the Chicago Fire Kite Team took to the air in a dazzling display of formations and kite dancing - kites synchronized to music.
