Thank you for the thought. And I hope this letter finds you safe, warm, and loved.

But I must tell you honestly all the guns will not go away. Please keep in mind although the world at times can seem like a scary place, it is largely filled with kind and loving people. People who care about children, people who support and nurture others, people connected to life.

Focus more on love, An. Do what you can to make a positive difference in someone else's life. Especially someone who feels left out, unloved, sad. You know who they are. Give them a hug.

Keep thinking about how to make this world a better place. We need more people like you.

Sadly, I think Santa would have to think and debate on this issue. Also, I'm sure HE or someone else (who rides with him on his sleigh) would carry a gun to SHOOT anyone who threatens him.

Having all the guns go away is more plausible than having violence go away. It's always been here and always will. Best bet is to have comparable firepower.

I can't possible be the only one who finds this disgusting. Exploiting the supposed view of a child based on what just happened to promote the idea of getting rid of guns. I agree that's a conversation that needs to take place and will in the near future, but I'm sorry, offensive doesn't even begin to describe this "comic."

I truly don't understand why some people find this cartoon to be offensive. Unfunny? Of course. It is not intended to be funny. It is an attempt to illustrate a real emotion many people — especially children — had as they tried to process the horrific events that occurred in Connecticut. I'm sorry if the cartoon seems insensitive. I've been heartsick since Friday's events, and after struggling with how to respond, I decided to portray a very basic, gut-level wish.

Obviously, it would be impossible for "all the guns" to go away. Nor would that mean an end to violence. But I can't understand those who want to hide their heads in the sand on this issue.

Nicely done, Chuck. If we could just all remember back to that period in our childhood when we were that innocent, before the paranoia and prejudice of adulthood clouded our minds and persuaded us to fire the other barrel instead of turning the other cheek.

Dear Santa please stop the killings of innocent children with guns and abortion too. They are both murder. Love from all the children and babies that want to live.

How does anyone with common sense find this offensive? How many children wrote letters to Santa asking for there to be no more wars? So their parent might be able to come home for the Holidays? Or alive for that matter.

I think it's extremely offensive to use the bodies of children as a soapbox to make a political point. Have a little decency, Chuck
