Police Blotter: 5 Face DUI Charges in Wheaton

TUESDAY, JUNE 26

DUI Near Butterfield and Cromwell

Police charged Marcus Carson of Cape Coral, FL with driving under the influence of alcohol. Carson, 53, was driving a black 1999 Honda Hatchback near the intersection of Butterfield Road and Cromwell Street around 1:40 a.m. when police stopped him. He was booked at the Wheaton Police Department and released later that morning.

Police Report 2 DUI Arrests

  • Police arrested and charged Marena Kelly of Arlington Heights with driving under the influence of alcohol. Kelly, 21, drove a white 2012 Nissan Altima near the intersection of Carlton Street and Liberty Drive around 4:40 a.m. when police stopped her. She was booked at the Wheaton Police Department and released later that morning. 
  • Police issued a local ordinance citation to a Plainfield man for driving under the influence. Kenneth Smail, 35, drove a blue 2000 Mitsubishi Merono near the intersection of Dawes Street and Naperville Road around 12:30 a.m. when police stopped him. He was booked at the Wheaton Police Department and released later that morning,

SATURDAY, JUNE 23

DUI, Suspended License Arrest

Police arrested and charged a Sugar Grove man with driving under the influence of alcohol and driving on a suspended license. Brett Lederman, 42, drove a green 1998 Dodge Durango near the intersection of Roosevelt Road and Saddle Drive around 2 a.m. He was booked at the Wheaton Police Department and released later that morning.

THURSDAY, JUNE 21 

Aurora Teen Stopped

Police arrested and charged an Aurora teen for driving under the influence of alcohol. Jaymie Janota, 18, drove a gold 2006 Ford Taurus in the 600 block of County Farm Road around 2 a.m. when police stopped her. She was booked at the Wheaton Police Department and released later that morning.
