DUI
Police arrested a 19-year-old Glendale Heights man Friday, Dec. 23 for driving under the influence of alcohol, illegal alcohol transportation, operating an uninsured vehicle, illegal alcohol consumption and a warrant for failure to appear for public intoxication. Horace Smith drove a white 1988 BMW convertible near the intersection of President Street and Roosevelt Road around 3:40 a.m. when police stopped him. He was booked at the Wheaton Police Department and released later that morning.
Police arrested a Geneva woman for driving under the influence of alcohol, disobeying a railroad crossing signal, disobeying a traffic control signal and disobeying a stop sign Thursday, Dec. 22. Shannon Callarman, 24, drove a silver 2002 Mazda Protégé around 2 a.m. near the intersection of Front and Main streets when police stopped her. She was booked at the Wheaton Police Department and released later that morning.
Theft, property damage
Someone stole two bikes from a garage in the 300 block of Hawthorne Boulevard around 6:30 a.m. Monday, Dec. 19. The bikes are each worth $400, police said.
Someone stole three pairs of sunglasses, a watch, $10 cash and a cell phone charger from a car parked in the 1000 block of Briarbrook Road between 10:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 20 and 7 a.m. Wednesday.
Someone scratched the side of a silver 2005 Honda Accord while it was parked in the lot at the Wheaton Center Apartments between 10 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 22 and 10 a.m. Friday. The scratched extended from the front quarter panel to the back quarter panel, police said.
