Owner: "what did you do with Orphan Annie?"
Player: "Never mind about her Warbucks, how do you like my old school Winnepeg Jets sweater?
I am a huge fan of Blackhawks hockey (fast moving, game is usually over in two hours so you dont waste a whole Sunday on the couch in front of the tv, hardest championship to win in sports BAR NONE!) but unfortunately the audience has always been limited The blame in this latest lock-out should be shared. Everyone got pre-2008 greedy and tried to homogonize the sport. The Hawks draw consistantly (despite overpriced tickets that you have to buy from a scalper, I mean ticket agent) but there's no way the league can support 30 teams over the long haul. If you think people did not or dont care about hockey now, wait as spring and baseball looms around the corner. That being said-for those of you who truly love the game-check out the Wolves. It's fun, cheap and when they play the Rockford Icehogs, there's a ton of Hawk's rookies on the team!

Thanks for the comment, Anthony... and for the Winnipeg Jets reference on the second-greatest sweater worn by Robert Marvin Hull. I have been a supporter of the Wolves since their first-ever game under the stewardship of old pal Grant Mulvey. That franchise knows how to put on a good show and they have great respect for their fans.

Charley, your a true fan of the game! In the dark ages of pre-internet, I remember my friends and I in shock as we read a 1972 copy of Hockey Digest announcing the Bobby's signing to the Jets. The picture of him holding that big cardboard check said it all......although in full disclosure I went out and bot a Chicago Cougars jersey later that year for no other reasn then "it was cool".
