New Businesses to Look for in 2013

Wheaton residents can expect a few major business openings in 2013, including Mariano's Fresh Market, Walgreens, two restaurants and more.

As we head into the new year, Wheaton residents can expect quite a few new businesses to pop up around town.

Arguably the biggest development underway is Mariano's Fresh Market at 625 Main St., the former Hubble/Wheaton Central school site. Developers predict the store will open in October 2013.

Bricks Pizza, set to open this fall and delayed to mid-December, should open early 2013 and Warren's Ale House, also set to open in fall 2012, should also be open early in the new year.

Aveda, 109 N. Main St. should open in 2013 after a few delays in fall 2012. City officials say Aveda owners still have not obtained their building permit.

Walgreens developers told city officials the new store at 2191 Roosevelt Rd. could open in June 2013.

Wheaton 121, is under construction at 121 N. Cross St. and should be open for residents in late summer of 2013.

http://wheaton.patch.com/articles/downtown-wheaton-aveda-salon-to-open-in-november Question begs and maybe a bit of/for your investigative reporting might tell... after all the controversy of the sale of this building and with your formerly announced November opening, why have the owners, (per your prior report) have they not even applied for a building permit? The building currently looks worse for months than it ever has --all boarded up. I will look foward to your investigative reply. Thanks!
