Meet Wheaton Candidates Before March 14 Forum

The Wheaton Chamber of Commerce and League of Women Voters will host a candidate forum for the District 200, City Council and Wheaton Park District elections on Thursday, March 14.

 

The Wheaton Chamber of Commerce and League of Women's Voters will host a candidate forum for candidates in the District 200, City Council and Wheaton Park District elections Thursday, March 14, at the Wheaton Park District Community Center, 1777 S. Blanchard St., Wheaton.

Candidates in contested races will have two minutes each to give opening statements. The forum will begin at 7 p.m.

City Council

There are five seats up for election this year, including one at-large seat. The only contested seat is in the North District, where four candidates are running for the position including incumbent Phil Suess.

District 200

There are nine candidates running for four seats on the Board of Education. Joann Coghill, Barbara Intihar and Ken Knicker are the incumbent candidates. The fourth seat up for election currently belongs to Andy Johnson, who is not seeking re-election in 2013.
