Harbor Express Café, a quick-service breakfast and lunch restaurant in downtown Wheaton, will discontinue its restaurant hours after Friday, Jan. 11.
The restaurant opened in 2011 as HAMCO Inc.'s first—and only—quick-service extension of Egg Harbor Café.
Ryan McGuire, former manager at Harbor Express told Patch after the restaurant's one-year anniversary that Harbor Express Café opened after a frequent catering client, First Trust Bank, approached HAMCO hoping they'd be interested in opening a quick-service space in the company's Liberty Drive building.
Unsure of the business model for Harbor Express, “they opened the doors and said ‘let’s find out’ where it goes,” he said.
Harbor Express, 120 Liberty Dr., will remain open for catering and special events.
Representatives from the restaurant and HAMCO, Inc. were not immediately available for comment. Patch will update this article as more details are available.

Would hope they could partner with a bakery & do catering out of that location as well. Wheaton really needs a bakery.
