Party for the Planet at Cosley Zoo

Where/When: 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Apr. 30 at Cosley Zoo, 1356 Gary Avenue, Wheaton

Why go: It's a Party for the Planet—for the Earth Day cake, of course. And to see the animals, and learn how to be more earth-conscious in everyday tasks.

Studio Drop-In: Simple Materials, Big Art 

Where/When: 1-3 p.m. everyday until Sunday, May 1

Why go: Get creative with simple items such as newspapers and CD's.

Rally Around the Flag

Where/When: 2-5 p.m. Saturday, Apr. 30 at DuPage Historical Museum, 103 Wesley Street, Wheaton

Why go: Your child might be learning about the Civil War in their 5th, 8th and 11th grade social studies classes. To go Rally Around the Flag to see Civil War re-enactors of the 8th Illinois Cavalry speak on the Cavalry Guidon, which is the flag carried to battle. If your kids aren't interested, but you're dying to go, send them downstairs for Train Saturdays.
