Why perpetuate the misleading 7.8% unemployment number. Actual un- and under-emplyment is around 15% or 23 million people.
The system must be cleaned up, no matter who gets elected, and newspapers should be doing their part to play down misleading political expediencies and amplify the truly relevant facts.
When is Patch going to begin fulfilling that responsibility?

It's ironic, and sad, that compulsive liars--and those who believe everyone is a liar--are both condemned to their own hell. They can't trust anyone.

Thanks, everyone, for your comments. Actually what I was trying to convey more than any statistic is perspective and empathy. Or lack thereof.

Hello Charles: The 21st Century Electorate does not care about empathy or have sympathy for the under or non employed. Look at Romney the candidate and the disdain he has for 47% of the country and yet at least half of those 47% will vote for him regardless. People who will lose their jobs to China if and when Romney becomes President and lets companies rule the way Bain Capital does; a majority of those people will have voted for Romney. The people get the government they deserve. There should be an IQ test for people to vote - that would rule out 98% of FOX Viewers then. - Patrick ZOSO (You know who.)
