Chris Hage Announces Wide and Strong Help From Supporters

Hage press release: Receives more donations than all opponents combined.

Former prosecutor Chris Hage announced today that he has filed with more than $55,000 raised for his campaign for the quarter ending December 31st, pointing to the support as a sign that his campaign is garnering wide and deep backing.

"I'm grateful that my message is bringing out so much support," Hage said.  "Campaigns are fundamentally about serving the public, not about fundraising or money, but this is a reflection of what I've also been hearing from voters as I walk precincts and from Republican volunteers.  My commitment to Republican values is getting through."

Hage is running in the 42nd district for state representative.  His campaign noted that public disclosures show the three other candidates in the race brought in less than Hage's total combined.

Hage pointed to the fact that support came from many places within the district and nationally, including former supervisors, former classmates, Republican leaders and longtime veteran GOP volunteers in the area.

Last year, Hage filed with the most petition signatures allowable to run, another sign of volunteer enthusiasm, he said.

"People are responding to my message that we need to say no to Democrat insider politics and yes to Republican values that promote growth and opportunity," he said.

Hage announced his run in October, with Patti Birkett, wife of former DuPage State's Attorney Joe Birkett, chairing the effort. For nearly ten years, Hage served as a prosecutor under Birkett, successfully convicting felons and collecting more than a million dollars in child support. Hage has worked on the staff of several statewide campaigns. He served as legal counsel to the Illinois State Senate, where he helped draft key legislation.  For more than ten years, Hage has also led the Chicago Lawyers' Chapter of the Federalist Society, a conservative public policy group started by Reagan Administration attorneys. He also is an Eagle Scout.

The 42nd District includes all of Winfield, large parts of Wheaton and Lisle, and portions of Carol Stream, West Chicago, Warrenville, and Naperville.
