Wheaton Warrenville South Production, "Charlotte's Web," to Open Next Week
The Wheaton Warrenville South has cast its novice production of "Charlotte's Web," which will premier Friday, Oct. 8 at 7:30 p.m. and close Saturday, Oct. 9 with a show at 7:30 p.m.
"The children's show is really a student directed production," said Roberta James, director of the show. "We have a lead student director, Kelsey Figiel and a lead music director, Ryan Wheatley. The other assistant student directors help train the new students about the theatre program and basic acting skills."
Kelsey Figiel said she loves being "hands on" as a student director. "It's exciting to be part of the show instead of just watching it as an audience member. The kids are so hard working and I really enjoy getting to know all of them.
"Opening night of the show is my favorite night because I get to just sit back and watch the kids perform their hearts out on something that they worked so hard on," she added.
Figiel is the lead student director with Asha Boyd, Alex Kalb and Mike Solis as her assistant student directors. Music director, Ryan Wheatley is assisted by Noah Baird, Victoria Beale, Emma Gotter, Matthew Moore and Richie Roesner.
The cast includes: Katie Weeks as Fern; Connor Claypool as Avery; Michelle Knob as Martha; Dan Brackmen as John; Matt Zuckerman as Homer; Marilyn Zubek as Edith; Robby Badgley as Lurvey; Kelly Potts as Wilbur; John Runne as Templeton; Monica Labelle as Charlotte; Jeanie Bolger as Goose; D'Angelo Barrett as Gander; Katie Johnson as Sheep; Katie Van Oss as Lamb; Will Quinn as Owl; Brook Yergovich as Bat; and Florin Kolbaba, Danielle Solis, Christina Albert and Sydney Tryba as townspeople.
Caroline Roberts is the choreography director and the assistant choreographers are Emily Korst and Emma Wright. The publicity director is Laine Bruczek and the costume director is Dani Barto.
There will be a matinee showing Saturday, Oct. 9 at 1 p.m. Tickets are %8 for adults, $4 for students, children and senior citizens.
