County Board Member Named Chair of Strategic Planning

  • April 19, 2012

The following is a press release from DuPage County:

DuPage County Board member Bill Bedrossian (District 4) was recently named vice chairman of the Strategic Planning Committee.

DuPage County Board Chairman Dan Cronin said Bedrossian is right person to fill the leadership role.

“Bill is a great fit for the Strategic Planning Committee due to his expertise and keen understanding of how to allocate resources in order to pursue our mission to make government more accountable, transparent and efficient,” said Cronin.

Bedrossian, who was appointed to the County Board in February, said he looks forward to his new leadership position.

“Taxpayers expect government to think and act strategically in utilizing our limited financial and human resources to provide the essential services that they depend on,” said Bedrossian. “I’m confident we can raise the bar in overall organizational performance through strategy.”

The committee was created several years ago following the adoption of a strategic plan for the county. The committee ensures the county’s mission is carried out through the departments. For example, the committee is currently working with staff to create a new customer service initiative to ensure residents’ needs are being met.

Bedrossian also serves on the Environmental, Health and Human Services and Stormwater committees.
